Amazing custom Arduino remote-controlled LEGO vehicle

To end the week we'd like to show you a project that has to be one of the best remote-controlled Arduino-powered cars ever seen. Created by Cyrus Tabrizi, it is the culmination of much hard work and experimenting. The vehicle itself is a four-wheeled car, with each wheel being powered by an individual continuous-rotation servo. Assembled from LEGO Technics pieces, it's quite solid and customisable. The control is received and processed via an Arduino and a XBee wireless transceiver.

The transmitter in itself is a seperate project - called the "Handuino" it's a customised controller for the car with an LCD screen, full joystick control and mounted inside a laser-cut enclosure. No doubt it could be adapter for other projects in the future or just playing games on the inbuilt LCD. Cyrus has created the following demonstration video which shows how great the project really is:

Kudos to Cyrus for his fantastic project. For a good read and complete instructions for the car, visit the project Instructable. And for more, we're on twitter and Google+, so follow us for news and product updates as well.

When making your own robotic or vehicle projects that require DC motor control, check out our new HBRIDGE: DC/stepper motor shield. Based around the powerful Allegro A4954 H-bridge driver IC you can control two DC motors with complete ease, or one bipolar stepper motor. With connections for external power management, a complete beginners' guide and documentation - motor control couldn't be any easier. For more information and to order, visit the HBRIDGE: page
