A beginner's Arduino-controlled robot

Making your own robot can be a lot of fun, however for the beginner the process can be somewhat daunting - so having some simple guides can go a long way to help the builder find success. One example of this has been published by Instructables member "chickenparmi" with his robot called James. It's a simple build, with two DC motors or rotational servos for a drive system. However with the addition of an ultrasonic distance sensor on another servo, James can "look about" for obstacles and do his best to avoid them - for example

It's a fun robot and not that expensive to make. The instructions include a few videos along the way, so click here to get started. And for more, we're on twitter and Google+, so follow us for news and product updates as well.

If you'd like to learn about Arduino - but not sure how to start - then the best way to learn is with our Experimenter's Kit for Arduino:
